The Essential Estate Planning Package for couples is an ideal solution for most families, and is our most popular package, offering key legal documents in an affordable bundle. Included are two wills, two financial powers of attorney, two medical powers of attorney, two physician's directives, and two HIPPA authorizations.

The wills outline your final wishes, provide instructions for your estate, and enable the appointment of guardians for minor children. If your estate planning needs are complex or your net worth is exceptionally high, additional charges may apply, or a different package might be more suitable. The powers of attorney allow you to assign an individual to manage your financial and property affairs or make crucial medical decisions on your behalf if you become incapacitated. These are "springing" powers, activated only when required. The physician's directives let you specify your preferred treatment in the event of a terminal or irreversible condition. The HIPPA authorizations permit designated individuals to access your protected health information during illness or hospitalization. This often-overlooked document is increasingly vital due to growing privacy concerns.

This package provides comprehensive, economical estate planning. Contact us today to complete this important task and get peace of mind.

Estate Planning Package (for couples)

  • What’s included

The following are included with this package:

    • A 15-minute initial phone or Zoom consultation if there is a question about the questionnaire or other issues that need to be addressed prior to drafting.
    • Drafting of the following documents based on your questionnaire and any personal consultation: (1) two Wills, (2) two Powers of Attorney, (3) two Medical Powers of Attorney, (4) two Physician’s Directives, and (5) two HIPAA Authorization.
    • Review and editing of draft documents to make sure your documents meet your desires and needs.
    • Signing/Execution of the completed documents at our office in Westlake or at one of our other Austin-area locations (Circle C, Lake Pointe, etc.). We ensure your documents are properly signed and correctly executed.
    • The notarization fees are included in the purchase price if the signing occurs at our standard locations and per our normal schedule.

    The following are not included:

    • For expedited or unusual signing scheduling demands (short notice, odd times outside of our norms, or an unusual location), there are additional charges, including a fee for the notary. The notary fee is $10.00 per acknowledgment (signature). A typical estate planning package will have seven acknowledgments, which equates to a fee of $70.00 per person (so for a married couple it will be $140.00).
    • For wills, two witnesses are required. The client is responsible for bringing their own witnesses. If the Client desires the Attorney to make arrangements for witnesses, we can do that if the signing occurs at our Circle C location. We cannot provide witnesses at our Westlake office. If we provide witnesses,  there is a $40 per witness fee that is paid to the witnesses.  These witness fees are not included in the purchase price.
    • All edits or revisions after the second substantive revision are $100 each.
    • All additional fees must be paid at the time of signing.
